TimIn 1984, Tim and Keith proudly voted on election day. To celebrate, they headed to the liquor store to get beer and watch race cars at the track. Alas, they learned that lawmakers didn’t feel voters should be able to purchase alcohol during poll hours. Perhaps Orwell was on to something.As fate would have it, The Professor had a bottle of Dewer’s in his apartment. Ever open-minded, the young gentlemen decided to spend a sunny day with scotch, soda, and Indy cars. Perhaps this event was the early seedling of this great institution? Can anyone say “Archduke Ferdinand”?Tim is known as “The Liberal”. He fancies himself a post-neo-oldschool-liberal. Enough said.In the book world, Tim favors fiction – literary or otherwise – but has had his mind brightened by many great books in all genres; books he likely would not have read save for the fine and wise gents of the SDBC. A founding member – Tim has had a few lapses in attendance over the years due to a life filled with stories, real or otherwise. The club has always welcomed him back.Tim is the founder of the 9-10 Project, a project designed to bring us all back to the place we were on 9-10-2001. A place where we could all voice our varying opinions and take large tubes of toothpaste on airplanes – a celebration of the richness and complexity of life in America. A place where we happily moved about in blissful ignorance of some threats, sure – but also a place where calmness, confidence, and rationality ruled the day - sometimes. A place and time when we still did not think torture was okay – ever.
